Masjid

Masjid-E-Anisul Islam was established near the centre of Blackburn off Whalley Range, with the aim of providing a place of worship for the expanding Muslim community, and facilities to cater for the Islamic educational needs of the children.

The masjid is located in Blackburn, Lancashire which is an industrial town near Preston with a Muslim population exceeding 35,000. This represents over 20% of the total population in the town.

The town has many Masajids, Madrasahs, Islamic scholars and Hafizul-Quran, and by the grace of Almighty Allah has earned a reputation as a major influential community in the UK. In the 21st century in Britain, the role of the Masjid is as important as it was in the time of our Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him).

Our purpose is to advance the Islamic faith through the provision of a wide range of spiritual, educational and social services enriched with Islamic values that fulfil the needs of our members and the wider community. Our vision is to become a centre of excellence for Islamic learning and practice providing a beacon for both Muslims and other faith communities who wish to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of Islam – a place where one can experience and embrace the genuine beauty of our faith.

By the grace of Almighty Allah, and the prayers of many distinguished scholars and well wishers, presently within the Masjid, we also manage the Madrasah, where we provide islamic education to over 300 students aged 4-15. Alhamdulillah, since establishment number of students have completed hifz (memorising) of the Holy Qur’aan and have graduated from our Madrasah. Many have gone on to study advanced Islamic studies and are now serving communities in various parts of the UK.

We are planning to start classes for aged 16+ and for adults in the near future, we are also planning to open a masjid library, brothers and sisters are requested to make dua.
